Batti Gul Meter Chalu earns 23 crs in its opening weekend

The film starring Shahid Kapoor,Shraddha Kapoor, Yami Gautam and Divyendu Sharma is set in uttarakhand.Since the tiltle of the film says Batti gul meter chalu  one  can guess  the film talks about the problems of electrictiy cuts and inflated bills.When  one of character of the film also faces such problem when he gets electricity bill of 54 lakhs.How the film unfolds after wards make the story of the film.The film is directed by Shree Narayan singh.
