Aamir Khan Starrer Lagaan completes 20 years. the EPIC period SPORTS  Film was released in 2001. The film tells the story a group of Villagers who refuse to Pay Lagaan(Taxes) to the British Government.The film was directed By Ashutosh Gowariker.

Instead, British Officers give them an offer to either pay their taxes or Play a cricket  Match against    the British team. Bhuvan the character played by Aamir Khan agrees to the bet and trains his own team against the  British Empire.


The film was released in 2001 was a superhit. The cast and crew of the film were mix of Indian and International Artists. The film was also nominated for the Academy Awards in the Foreign Film category.
