Pyaasa Stars Guru Dutt, Waheeda Rahman, Mala Sinha, and Johnny Walker in lead roles. Pyaasa is the story of Struggling Poet Vijay who is often insulted by society. Vijay only finds peace when he is in the company of Prostitute Gulbao(Waheeda Rahman).
The character of Vijay played by Guru Dutt is of lonely and depressed Poet whose poem is rejected by Publisher.
Songs off Pyaasa have gained Cult Status in the he arts of fans. My fav songs from the film is Hum Apke Ankhon Mein Apne Dil ko Chura Leh Toh, Sar Jo Tera Chakra Re and Haunting Medley Duniya Agar Mil bhi Jaye toh Kya hai.
